ost of the clients who live at Cornerstone House were admitted as children, but they are now all in their twenties. Over the years their growth has necessitated many changes in the house. Furnishings and bedroom decor have changed to be suitable for adults, and toys have been replaced with computers and other leisure and educational items. Everything from clothing to the choice of community outings has changed.
Day programs, of course, have been modified, as well.
"The clients have grown up, and we've grown with them," reflects Angela Rossi, QMRP. "We've trained the staff in age-appropriate
interactions and consulted Tri-Counties Regional Center to help
guide the proper evolution of the house.” |
